“Art Integrated Education is a Pedagogical Method of Experiential Learning ”

A workshop on Art Integration was organized by the CBSE at Lady Anusuiya Singhania Education Centre, Jhalawar on Saturday (22/07/2023). First of all garlands wreath on the pictures of Maa Saraswati and Lady Anusuiya and lamps were lit by Resource persons Mr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Principal, Maheshwari Public School, Kota, Mr. Inder Pratap Singh, PGT, Vardhaman International School, Jaipur and Dr. Arunesh Saxena, Principal, Lady Anusuiya Singhania Education Centre, Jhalawar. After that the girl students presented Saraswati Vandana, Katthak and Shiv Stuti through dance performance in honor of the guests. Respected Dr. Arunesh Saxena, Principal, Lady Anusuiya Singhania Education Centre, Jhalawar welcomed the guests by presenting bouquets. In the welcome address, Dr. Arunesh Saxena said that art integration is a new way of teaching different subjects in which various forms of art such as visual arts, performing art , theatre etc are used as teaching tools.
While conducting the programme, HoD, English Department, Mr. Piyush Mathur apprised about the profile of both resource persons Mr. Amit Kumar Sharma and Mr. Inder Pratap Singh.
As the main speaker in the workshop, Mr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Principal, Maheshwari Public School, Kota, told that according to the National Education Policy, art is important in education. Considering art as a medium in teaching, connecting it with other subjects should be connected with experimental, functional, cognitive feelings. The workshop was made interesting through various activities. He told that Art integrated education is a pedagogical method of experiential learning. Integration of arts with other subjects means that different types of arts such as visual arts, performing arts and literary arts become a different part of the teaching-learning process to make learning interesting and fun.
Mr. Inder Pratap Singh, PGT, Vardhaman International School, Jaipur said in the workshop through various activities that art should be integrated in education. Along with motivating the learners, it also works to advance their cognitive, emotional and psychological development very easily. In the closing session, HoD, Hindi Department, Mr. Manish Kumar Chaturvedi said that art is as important in education as the organs in the body. Overall 60 teachers from different CBSE schools of Baran, Jaipur, Pilani, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar participated in the workshop. English teacher and Junior CCA incharge Mrs. Neena Sharma gave vote of thanks.
